Upgrading to a different Vivid Content version should be fairly straight forward. Begin by logging into Joomla the administration system. Next,

1. Select Components - Vivid Content - Settings from the main Joomla administration menu. Select Yes for the upgrade option. Click Save.
2. Download the latest Component zip from the Repository. Extract the file on your computer and upload the com_vivid_content folder to your Joomla root folder (i.e. http://www.yourdomain.com/com_vivid_content). You do NOT need to upgrade the Vivid Content Module only the Component.
3. Upload your license file (i.e. license.lic) to the com_vivid_content folder on your server.
4. Uninstall the previous version of the Vivid Content Component.
5. Install the new Vivid Content Component by using the Install From Directory option specifying the path to the com_vivid_content folder you uploaded (i.e. /home/user_name /public_html/com_vivid_content).
6. Once the installation is complete, ensure the extension is working properly.
7. Remove the http://www.yourdomain.com/com_vivid_content folder from your server.
